Very Pushy Quilt

sashing fabric tryout
These scrappy blocks are definitely very impatient to be worked on and I don't seem to have any control over them or myself it seems. I thought I would start working toward turning them into a quilt after I finished my Blind Man's Fancy but they obviously have other ideas. They are absolutely demanding to jump to the head of the line and get worked on. I must say that it is quite a nice diversion. :)

I can't help but feel happy when I look at them - maybe it is the winter blahs that have me wanting to work with these funky, bright and happy blocks.

Originally I was just going to stitch them all together one to the other but I decided I might like them set with sashing....striped sashing to be exact.

These are some of the options I was thinking about and I have decided on the more subtle green stripe on the right. I don't think it will add to the chaos of the blocks but it would certainly add some interest.

I hear you on those Crumb blocks taking over the sewing time!! When I made my quilt I would start with one or two "crumb starters" and having a grand time. A little while later, I would look down and be working on TEN blocks! What? They are sneaky like that.
