Once I decided on the fabric to use for the sashing I cut some strips and put them on the design wall with the blocks. I immediately started thinking about whether it needed cornerstones or not and I say YES it needs cornerstones. My first inclination was to go subtle so that they don't compete with those fun blocks and I dug through my fabric stash and came up with this. The fabric is fairly close in colour to the sashing, just a bit darker, and with a slightly darker tone-on-tone print.
I like the subtle look but is it boring? Perhaps I should go scrappy with the cornerstones?
I like the colourful cornerstones option but I think it is competing a bit with the blocks.
My blocks will finish at 9" and I have 30 blocks so my layout will be 5 x 6 and that won't make a very large quilt. I don't really want to make anymore of these blocks but I also don't want the quilt to be too small so I may add a border. If I go that route I think it needs to be bold so I dug out these crumb strips that I had stashed in a box.
Now that most decisions have been made regarding the quilt design the only thing left is to start sewing. :) Since the blocks are already made it really shouldn't take long to turn them into a flimsy!

What a fun quilt. Looks like it is telling you exactly what to do next.
Looks like you are having fun. I think those blocks are addicting especially when you see how much fabric can get made from almost nothing.
