I finished making the double ended oven mitts and I think they turned out great. Thanks to
Jo for the easy-to-follow tutorial!
Instead of quilting each oven mitt individually, I quilted one large piece of fabric on my long arm and I intentionally made sure that it was much bigger than I needed for the oven mitts. I knew that I wanted to also make matching hot pads or pot holders. I cut out the sizes needed for the oven mitts and then I made some hot pads with the remaining quilted fabric.

I am very pleased with the way they turned out. I machine bound everything and I think I did a pretty good job. I had tried machine binding previously and it just did not turn out very well at all. I think I have started to get the hang of it now so I have another skill in my toolkit. :) I wouldn't say that I have mastered the technique but I think it looks good enough that I can now use it confidently to machine bind donation quilts.
