The New Quilt

This new quilt that I am making is taken from a photo in a magazine so I don't have a pattern to follow along but fortunately, I do have EQ7. :)

I did a mock-up of my new quilt project to see if I can get an idea of how my quilt just might look when I get it finished. I don't often sew with 3.5" squares or hsts but I think I will do with this quilt and that will give me gigantic 15" blocks.

The first option shows the quilt with darker corners in the Wild Goose Chase block and the second option has lighter corners.

option 1
option 2

Even though the colours in the photos are not exactly the same as the ones I plan to use, it does help me to visualize how the design will look. My preference is the one with the light corners - option 2.

I am excited to get going with this new quilt!

I agree with you. Option 2 looks better, not as busy and crowded. What if you add a purple to the red HST on the corner of Wild Goose Chase? It would make a link to the next WGC and add something interesting I think. Just saying. Looking forward to see what colors you have in mind. ;^)

I agree - love the look of the lighter #2 as it creates that fun circular secondary design. Very pretty. Happy sewing.

Oh, my, it’s going to be beautiful! Option 2 does seem to catch my eye, too.
