Organizing Dear Jane

finished blocks
All of my Dear Jane blocks are hand pieced or hand appliqued and from experience I know that if I don't have them prepared ahead of time then they just don't happen. Recently, I took some time to organize my Dear Jane project in hopes that it might make it easier for me to pick up and work on. I went ahead and chose the fabrics that I plan to use for each block in row D as well as a couple from row C. I think that picking fabrics is often the hold up for me to get my blocks started. This gives me plenty of blocks to choose from when the mood strikes and I won't have to spend any extra time trying to figure which fabric should go where. I am not overly fussy about the fabric placement but I don't particularly want all of one colour clumped together.

added fabric selections
reject - not working for me!
When I picked up my DJ project to work on the previous block  (D8) I realized that I had skipped several blocks. I went through the box that the finished blocks are stored in and found this block - C7. Ewww...I see why I skipped this one. It looks like I started it but then encountered some real challenges in actually making it. It is those teeny tiny diamonds that are not working for me. I need to figure out a better way to piece this block but it will require a little more time than I want to give it right now. I did get as far as picking a replacement fabric so that when I am ready to face the challenge it will be ready for me. :)

Yikes, I would have skipped the block too! Nice that you have started to prep things - I find if things are prepped I actually work on them in little bits of time.

Ellen se bonito todas los bloques terminados y las telas que elegiste.
Yo comencé mi DJ por el bloque central girando en el sentido de las agujas del reloj. Me funciona bien.
Al terminar una vuelta elijo todas las telas para los bloques siguienten
La pagina que Jo recomienda la visito casi todos los boques
